CommSec is delighted to announce a partnership with Fingal Chamber to host an upcoming Cyber Security Training Course. The course is specifically tailored for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) seeking to bolster their digital defences against cyber threats. The training course will take place online on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM IST.
A must for small businesses
In the post-Covid digital landscape, SMEs face a multitude of cyber threats that can severely impact their operations and sensitive data. Recent studies have highlighted the need for effective cyber security measures, revealing that 94% of 3,000 surveyed organisations in fourteen countries experienced some form of cyber-attack in the past year. With the average cost of a data breach for businesses with fewer than five hundred employees reaching a staggering €2.5 million, as reported by IBM, it is critical for SMEs to be proactive in protecting their digital assets.
Course Instructor
The course, led by Colm Gallagher, Forensics Director at CommSec offers participants valuable insights into the nature of common cyber threats, including ransomware, phishing, social engineering, and smishing (SMS/texting-based cyber-attacks). Colm brings over 20 years of experience in the field, having previously served as a Cybercrime Investigator at the Garda National Cyber Crime Bureau and an IT Systems Administrator at the Garda IT Division.
Learning Outcomes – Cyber Security Training
Course participants will learn how to recognise and defend against various types of cyber-attacks, secure digital assets, implement essential cybersecurity controls, and foster a culture of security within their organisations. The webinar will also cover crucial topics such as physical security measures, email security, password management, web security, and the importance of addressing insider threats.
