CommSec Enlists IT Block to Provide Vulnerability Scanning Platform CheckScan+ in Asia

Irish cyber security provider CommSec has enlisted IT Block, a Singapore-based IT provider, to market CheckScan+, an innovative vulnerability scanning platform in Asia. It marks CommSec’s first sales venture into the region.

Developed and managed by CommSec, CheckScan+ is one of few cyber security testing services that includes both leading edge technology and a wraparound service from certified Security Analysts and Pen Testers. It is delivered as a managed service which means it’s customers avail of automated, continuous, and structured vulnerability scans across their critical assets (Internal/External Infrastructure & Web Applications). The platform delivers verified and accurate reporting of each vulnerability found with the support from security consultants eliminating potential false positives from vulnerability scan results.

Singapore-based IT Block provides managed IT services including technical helpdesk support, IT consultancy, cloud migration, and cyber security services to its customers. Singapore is home to a new wave of web development companies and one of the world’s fastest-growing ICT economies. Founder and VP of Sales & Technology, Reza Nilofer remarks, “In a time of constant cyber threat, our customers need sophisticated cyber security testing. CheckScan+ will allow us to provide vulnerability scanning and detailed security validation for our customers”.

“This is a transformational step for CheckScan+, with our first partnership in Asia. We are proud to have partnered with IT Block as they are a security-focused MSP with values that align with our own” said David McNamara, CEO of CommSec. David adds, “we look forward to working alongside IT Block and supporting their business”.

CommSec developed CheckScan+ during the pandemic as a response to demand for regular and more-efficient cyber security testing. “We’re delighted to have built a strong domestic customer base and now that’s growing internationally as well,” says David.

CheckScan+ gives high-quality reporting of security vulnerabilities and can be useful when it comes to building trust along the supply chain application developers. Furthermore, the platform can aid businesses in regulated industries to provide a historical picture of security testing and provide auditing information for those pursuing international compliance such as ISO27001 (Information Security Management) accreditation.
